Citi Deepens Coinbase Partnership for Stablecoin Payments Expansion

Share

Citigroup is deepening its partnership with Coinbase to expand its cryptocurrency offerings. The banking giant will use Coinbase's infrastructure to allow corporate clients to accept stablecoin payments, part of Citi's broader push into digital assets.

Notably, this collaboration builds on a previous announcement in October 2025, when the two companies first explored digital-asset payments and alternative fiat-to-stablecoin conversion. However, specific details about which stablecoins or blockchain networks will be supported remain limited.

Citi's crypto push includes expanding its Citi Token Services, improving interoperability, developing custody and tokenization services, and providing banking infrastructure to virtual-asset service providers.
