CLARITY Act Stalls Amid Stablecoin Yield Concerns and XRP's Growing Role
The CLARITY Act has reached an impasse in the legislative process due to concerns about stablecoin yields and their potential impact on traditional bank deposits.
Crypto commentator X Finance Bull linked this dispute to comments from U.S. Senator Josh Hawley, who expressed concern that investors could move money out of small local banks to pursue higher returns through stablecoins.
Hawley's main worry was the potential reduction in capital for agricultural loans for farmers in Missouri, and he suggested that Senator Jerry Moran's proposed language could address this issue.
X Finance Bull also referenced comments from David Schwartz, co-creator of the XRP Ledger, who characterized the banking industry's position as protecting bank profits through restrictive measures on stablecoin yields.
