Clarity Act Vote Looms as Stablecoin Rewards Dispute Flares
The Clarity Act is back on the table as the US Senate prepares for a new vote on September 15. Patrick Witt, White House crypto advisor, expressed optimism despite the challenges ahead.
The bill aims to establish a federal framework for the crypto market and has been pending in the Senate since July 2025. However, disagreements over stablecoin rewards have resurfaced, causing tension between banks and crypto companies.
An earlier compromise that banned rewards solely for holding stablecoins may need to be revisited. Tim Scott, Republican chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, acknowledged the issue's resurgence.
