CleanSpark Expands Wyoming Presence with New Bitcoin Mining Site
CleanSpark has expanded its presence in Wyoming by acquiring a 30 MW Bitcoin mining site in Cheyenne, which will add over 2 EH/s to its hashrate once operational. This facility utilizes immersion cooling and S21 immersion XP machines.
The company also progressed on real estate for a second Wyoming site that provides an additional 45 MW and 3 EH/s of contracted capacity. The state's BITCOIN Act supports the industry, making it a logical expansion choice for CleanSpark.
Bitcoin mining is often criticized for consuming excessive energy, but data from the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance suggests this usage accounts for only 0.5% of global electricity consumption and corresponds to 39.8 Mt CO2 emissions annually, roughly 0.08% of global emissions.
