CME Group Adds Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap Futures Amid Institutional Demand
CME Group, a leading derivatives exchange, is set to launch Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures on October 19, pending regulatory review. This move marks another significant step in expanding its regulated crypto derivatives suite.
The new contracts will be available in both standard and Micro sizes, with Bitcoin Cash futures sized at 250 BCH and a 25 BCH Micro contract, while Uniswap futures will carry a 10,000 UNI notional alongside a 1,000 UNI Micro version. This expansion is designed to cater to the growing demand for institutional-grade tools to manage price risk across high-liquidity altcoin markets.
CME Group's decision to add these new contracts comes as crypto futures averaged 279,800 contracts per day in the first half of 2026, equivalent to around $15.4 billion in notional value. The exchange has seen significant growth in its regulated crypto derivatives offerings, with recent altcoin listings contributing over $1 billion in total notional value year-to-date.
Giovanni Vicioso, global head of cryptocurrency products at CME Group, described the new contracts as 'designed for greater versatility and capital efficiency', allowing clients to manage risk or gain exposure within a 24/7 regulated marketplace.
