CME Group Expands Crypto Futures Suite with Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap
The CME Group is expanding its cryptocurrency derivatives lineup by adding Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures to its suite. The new contracts will launch on October 19, pending regulatory review, and include standard and Micro-sized options. This move responds to institutional demand for regulated tools in liquid altcoin markets.
Giovanni Vicioso, global head of cryptocurrency products at CME Group, stated that market participants are seeking broader regulated instruments to manage digital-asset price risk as the sector matures. The new contracts will improve versatility and capital efficiency while giving clients exposure to additional crypto networks through CME's 24/7 regulated marketplace.
The addition of Bitcoin Cash futures for 250 BCH and Micro Bitcoin Cash futures for 25 BCH, alongside Uniswap futures for 10,000 UNI and Micro Uniswap futures for 1,000 UNI, extends CME Group's single-asset cryptocurrency suite. This suite already includes futures tied to Bitcoin, Ether, XRP, Solana, Cardano, Chainlink, Stellar, Avalanche, and Sui.
CME Group reported that its crypto futures and options recorded average daily volume of 279,800 contracts in the first half of 2026, equivalent to $8.3 billion in notional value, while average open interest reached 264,600 contracts, or $15.4 billion in notional terms.
