Coinbase Brings IPOs to Mainstream Investors via New App Feature

Share

Coinbase has expanded its reach beyond crypto trading by opening up IPO allocations to U.S. retail investors, starting with Oura's upcoming IPO.

U.S. individual investors can now buy shares in the IPO at the offer price before public markets open, with Coinbase Capital Markets handling the securities offering and Apex Clearing providing execution, clearing, and custody services.

The move is part of Coinbase's broader 'Everything Exchange' strategy to provide a platform for traditional-market products. The exchange has added a separate tab in its app for active IPO deals, allowing eligible customers to make conditional offers to purchase shares once the anticipated price range is available.
