Coinbase CEO Optimistic on Regulatory Clarity Amid CLARITY Act Defeat
The US Senate recently rejected the CLARITY Act by a narrow margin of 49-50 votes, failing to reach the required 60-vote threshold.
This proposed legislation aimed to establish America's first comprehensive federal regulatory structure for digital currencies, but its passage appears improbable before November's midterm elections.
Despite this setback, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong remains optimistic that a clear regulatory framework will emerge through actions taken by the SEC and CFTC.
Armstrong pointed out that these agencies already possess the necessary authority to establish transparent regulations using their current powers and argued that 'regulatory clarity for cryptocurrency is inevitable.'
