Coinbase Completes Integrated Derivatives Structure in US with CFTC Approval
Coinbase has completed its integrated derivatives structure in the US after receiving approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
The CFTC has granted Coinbase a clearinghouse registration, allowing it to operate as a single corporate entity for trading, customer brokerage, and trade execution.
As part of this integration, Coinbase has established a margin-based trading model that is active 24/7, utilizing the $USDC stablecoin ($1.00 · Live) as collateral.
This move comes amid ongoing regulatory discussions in the US regarding derivatives expansion.
