Coinbase Denied Bid to Dismiss Investor Regulatory Risk Claims

Share

Coinbase Global Inc., the largest US crypto platform, suffered a setback in its bid to dismiss investor claims of misrepresenting hypothetical bankruptcy consequences and downplaying regulatory risks.

A US District Court for the District of New Jersey judge denied Coinbase's motion to dismiss the proposed class complaint, citing that it properly identified the certifier of certain corporate statements.

The court found that CEO Brian Armstrong and Chief Financial Officer Alesia Haas certified corporate bankruptcy risk statements, while Armstrong also certified regulatory risk ones.

This ruling means the investors' claims will proceed in court, potentially affecting Coinbase's operations and financial stability.
