Coinbase Launches Prediction Market for Clarke vs Piraino Event
Coinbase has launched a new prediction market on its platform, allowing users to bet on the outcome of the Clarke vs Piraino event. The market will close and expire when the outcome is determined or by October 20, 2026, at 6:45 PM GMT+0, whichever comes first. As of now, no trading volume has been detected, giving users the opportunity to be the first to make their predictions.
The market has already garnered significant interest, with a total interest of $2,584,905.06 and a 24-hour trading volume of $1,886,687.26. The total value of the market stands at $4.5 million. Users can buy contracts predicting either a 'Yes' or 'No' outcome, with the price reflecting the market's odds. If the event occurs, 'Yes' contracts pay out $1 per contract, minus the purchase price and any fees.
To participate, users need a Coinbase account and must complete onboarding to Coinbase Financial Markets (CFM), the regulated derivatives entity. This process includes identity verification and providing basic income or net worth details. Once approved, users can fund their accounts and start trading using cash (USD and USDC) from their main Coinbase account. Settlement of contracts is based on an independent, regulated exchange's determination using a stated 'source of truth.'
Coinbase emphasizes that trading prediction markets involves substantial risk and may result in the loss of the entire investment. The platform is not responsible for any errors or delays in content and does not provide investment advice. Users are advised to understand the product and assess its appropriateness for their financial situation before trading.
