Coinbase Launches Prediction Market for Sanchez vs Cristobal Match
Coinbase has launched a new prediction market allowing users to bet on the outcome of a match between Sanchez and Cristobal. The market will close on October 20, 2026, or when the event occurs, whichever comes first. As of now, no volume has been detected, giving traders the chance to be the first to participate.
The market has seen $65,814.70 in interest and $33,297.29 in 24-hour trading volume. To participate, users need a Coinbase account and must complete onboarding with Coinbase Financial Markets (CFM), which includes identity verification and basic financial details. Once approved, traders can use USD or USDC from their main Coinbase account to trade.
Each contract pays $1 if the predicted event happens and $0 if it does not. The price of the contract reflects the market’s odds. For example, a price of $0.65 indicates a 65% chance of the event occurring. Traders can buy "Yes" if they believe the event will happen or "No" if they think it will not. Payouts are made after settlement, which occurs when the event result is confirmed by an independent, regulated exchange.
Coinbase emphasizes that trading prediction markets involves substantial risk and may result in the loss of the entire investment. The platform is offered by Coinbase Financial Markets, a registered futures commission merchant with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Trading is available 24/7, except during weekly maintenance windows.
