Coinbase's Q2 2026 earnings call provided insight into the company's efforts to diversify its revenue streams beyond Bitcoin. The company reported that Bitcoin-related transactions now account for 12% of total revenue, down from over 50%. This shift reflects Coinbase's focus on developing a more diversified asset mix.

One key area of growth is subscription and services revenue, particularly through the Coinbase 1 platform. Management stated that subscribers generate higher unit economics and demonstrate better retention rates than non-member retail users. The company has seen a one-year payback on growth marketing efforts, with recent performance exceeding this internal benchmark.

Coinbase's Base Layer 2 network has achieved significant scale, handling the majority of AI-driven stablecoin transactions and reaching $32 trillion in annual transfer volume. The company also confirmed the renewal of its partnership with Circle and its commitment to a multi-stablecoin strategy through the Onyx USD platform.
