Coinbase Stock Surges on Bullish Predictions and Regulatory Tailwinds
Coinbase stock has seen a significant surge in recent trading, rising by 12.07% as optimism around cryptocurrency adoption and regulation grows.
Major Wall Street banks, including Goldman Sachs and Needham, have raised their price targets on Coinbase, with the average now sitting at $200 and an overweight consensus from analysts.
Morgan Stanley has also entered the fray, launching coverage of COIN with a $250 target, despite initially giving it an Equal Weight rating. The firm's analysts believe that Coinbase is shifting towards becoming an 'Everything Exchange', moving beyond pure crypto trading to include traditional assets and tokenized products.
This pivot is aimed at reducing dependence on trading fees, which are tied to the volatility of cryptocurrencies. Instead, Coinbase is pushing into stablecoin payments and tokenized securities, with CEO Brian Armstrong predicting that the $300B stablecoin market could grow tenfold by 2030.
