Coldcard Hackers Flee with Millions to Cryptocurrency Mixers
A total of $4.17 million in Bitcoin and $380,000 in Ether linked to the recent Coldcard exploit have been sent to cryptocurrency mixing protocols.
CertiK's blockchain security platform reported that 64 BTC was transferred from address bc1q0 to Wasabi on Tuesday, while 200 ETH was sent to Tornado Cash on Wednesday.
This move makes it difficult for authorities to trace the stolen funds and increases the chances of asset recovery being unsuccessful.
The Coldcard exploit has become the third-largest cryptocurrency hack so far in 2026, draining at least $100 million in Bitcoin from 7,300 victim wallets across three confirmed attack waves.
