Column Brings Stablecoin Settlement and Card Issuing Under One Roof
Column, a fintech infrastructure provider, has expanded its services to include native stablecoin settlement and card issuing for its customers. The company announced this development on September 16, which allows fintechs to convert USDC and USDT to and from fiat around the clock without intermediaries or prefunding.
The integration of USDC and USDT conversion in Column's banking core enables 24/7 conversion between fiat and stablecoins. This capability is supported by Solana and Ethereum, as well as fiat rails including SWIFT, RTP, and checks.
Column also introduced stablecoin-backed card capabilities that allow fintechs to authorize transactions against stablecoin balances immediately after those balances are received. The platform supports 24/7 settlement in stablecoins with both Visa and Mastercard.
This development aims to serve as a single infrastructure provider for fintech card programs, reducing the need for separate banks, processors, and stablecoin vendors. Column's stablecoin product was developed in collaboration with fintechs such as Slash and Brex and is processing tens of billions of dollars in annualized volume.
