Corporate Bitcoin Buying Surges with Strategy, Strive, and Metaplanet Expanding Holdings
Three companies have significantly expanded their Bitcoin holdings in recent moves that highlight growing corporate interest in BTC as a treasury asset. Strategy (MSTR) added 334 BTC for $28 million last week, bringing its total holdings to 848,000 BTC. The purchases were funded by proceeds from stock sales and cash reserves, with the company reporting $4.8 billion in USD reserves and $833 million available for further Bitcoin acquisitions.
Strive (ASST) also boosted its Bitcoin treasury, acquiring 2,000 BTC for roughly $169 million. This increased its holdings from 27,462 BTC to 29,462 BTC. Strive's purchases were primarily funded through the issuance of its Variable Rate Series A Perpetual Preferred Stock. The company aims to maintain an amplification ratio above 60% while Bitcoin remains below $100,000.
Meanwhile, Japan-based Metaplanet revised its capital allocation framework to prioritize Bitcoin as the dominant asset on its balance sheet. The company now holds 44,000 BTC and plans to allocate 85% to 90% of its total assets to Bitcoin. The remaining 10% to 15% will be directed toward strategic investments, including mergers and acquisitions to build a Bitcoin-based financial platform.
At the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading at $85,700, up 0.4% in the past 24 hours. Strategy's stock (MSTR) is up 3% at $164.9, while Strive's stock (ASST) is up 1.6% at $30.50.
