Cosmos Labs Misclassifies Vulnerability, Allows Six-Chain Hack

A six-chain hack on Cosmos EVM networks resulted in attackers converting about $5.72 million in assets.

The vulnerability was misclassified and patched without an urgent warning, allowing attackers to exploit it between August 20 and August 25.

Cosmos Labs underestimated the reported vulnerability and initially treated it as routine maintenance, which led to a delayed response.
