Crypto at Its Micron Moment Says Veteran Investor Visser
Wall Street veteran Jordi Visser has drawn a bold parallel between the crypto market and the meteoric rise of Micron Technology (MU). He described the current state of crypto as its "Micron moment," a phase of rapid repricing that exceeds investor expectations. Visser, who previously traded Micron, recalled predicting the stock would double or triple, only to see it surge 14 times on earnings growth. This analogy underscores his optimism for crypto, where he anticipates token volumes will skyrocket due to factors like tokenization, stablecoin payments, and AI agents.
Visser emphasized the transformative potential of tokenization, which will allow institutional investors broader exposure to the crypto ecosystem. He noted that wealth advisors and management firms will soon face pressure from clients eager to capitalize on crypto gains. "Stocks are going to be tokenized for sure," he asserted, highlighting the expanding investment options driven by this trend. He also pointed out that large investors currently have limited avenues for crypto exposure, such as ETFs and listed stocks, but tokenization will change that.
Reflecting on his own investment strategy, Visser revealed that he had sold his entire stake in Micron earlier this year, believing that easy gains in AI were over and retail money would rotate into other assets. He has since shifted his focus to Bitcoin (BTC), describing it as one of the few entities that endure repeated waves of technological and human disruption. "There are very few things that survive the disruption of human beings and technology: religion, gold, and now Bitcoin," he stated.
As of the latest data, Bitcoin’s price traded above $85,000, up over 0.5% in the past 24 hours. Meanwhile, retail sentiment around Micron remained "extremely bullish" on Stocktwits, with chatter at "extremely high" levels, while Bitcoin sentiment was in the "bearish" zone with chatter dipping to "low."
