Crypto Blockspace Fees Concentrate Among Top Networks
Crypto's blockspace market has seen a significant narrowing of its fee generation, with only seven out of 558 tracked networks crossing $100,000 in a single day. This is according to data from DefiLlama, which also found that 514 chains generated less than $1,000 in the observed 24-hour period.
Among the top-performing networks were Solana, Tron, and BNB Chain, each of which led the group with fees ranging from $793,900 to $1.09 million. Ethereum and Bitcoin also made appearances on the leaderboard, but their fees were significantly lower at $435,000 and $325,600 respectively.
The data suggests that many networks are relying on cheap transactions and subsidies to attract users and developers, rather than generating significant revenue from blockspace sales. In fact, 71.5% of tracked chains produced zero fees in the observed period.
