Crypto Firms Pour Over $200 Million into 2026 US Election Cycle

Share

Crypto companies have contributed over $206 million towards the 2026 US election cycle, making them the largest sector in corporate political spending.

A Public Citizen analysis of FEC records shows that crypto contributions account for 53% of all corporate contributions disclosed to the Federal Election Commission this year.

Fairshake, a super PAC backed by crypto companies and investors like Coinbase and Andreessen Horowitz, has been at the center of the election spending. The group had built a $193 million war chest by January and has spent money in races across several states.

The network's affiliates have intervened in both Democratic and Republican primaries, with their spending focused on congressional candidates and digital asset policy. Fairshake has prepared at least $30 million to oppose former Sen. Sherrod Brown in Ohio's November special election.
