Crypto Industry PAC Spends Big on Ads Against Ohio Dem Sherrod Brown

A PAC backed by Coinbase and Ripple Labs, called Fairshake, has invested $11.4 million in media advertising to support Republican Jon Husted's bid for a US Senate seat in Ohio.

The effort is part of a broader campaign to block Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown from returning to the Senate, where he served as chairman of the Banking Committee and was a vocal critic of cryptocurrency regulations.

Brown's re-election bid against Republican Bernie Moreno last year drew significant outside spending, with Fairshake and other crypto-related PACs pouring in over $300 million to support Moreno and oppose Brown. Moreno ultimately won with 50.2% of the vote.
