Crypto Market Slumps to $2.1T After Three Straight Quarters of Decline
The crypto market has just experienced its third consecutive quarter of decline, with total market capitalization falling to $2.1 trillion in Q2 2026.
This marks a 12.6% drop from the previous quarter and is the lowest reading since September 2024, representing roughly 52% below the peak hit in October 2025.
The decline erased $304.8 billion from total capitalization, bringing it down from $2.4 trillion at the end of Q1.
Bitcoin and Ethereum, the two largest assets by market cap, were not spared, with Bitcoin falling 14.2% over the quarter and Ethereum taking a steeper hit at 25.4%, according to CoinGecko's Q2 2026 Crypto Industry Report.
