Crypto Market Splits: Altcoins Outpace Bitcoin While Smaller Tokens Surge
The crypto market presented a mixed picture on Tuesday, with some altcoins outperforming Bitcoin in the evening session. Major cryptocurrencies like Solana and Avalanche led the late-session recovery, while smaller tokens like Cortex surged by as much as 124.8%.
Earlier in the day, major coins had traded lower, with Bitcoin falling as much as 3.26% to $75,417.86 and Ethereum declining 4.80% to $2,393.22. However, a rebound lifted several major altcoins, including Solana, which climbed 1.52% to $98.35 in evening trading.
BNB advanced 1.17% to $720.44, while XRP gained 0.61% to $1.29, partially recovering from an earlier decline. Dogecoin extended a modest rebound with a 0.52% increase to $0.08. Cardano was the sole decliner among the eight major cryptocurrencies tracked in the evening report.
The divergence between daytime and evening sessions highlights the intraday volatility that has characterized crypto markets in recent weeks, according to market data cited in the Business Upturn report.
