During her time leading the SEC's Crypto Task Force, which began in February 2025, Peirce helped issue guidance on several key topics. These included mining, staking, and meme coins, as well as efforts to clarify how regulators should oversee specific projects.

In her resignation letter, Peirce emphasized the importance of balancing freedom and regulation, stating that giving people confidence to transact is a key task for regulators.
