Crypto Ownership Plummets Among US Investors to 11%: Gallup Survey
A recent Gallup survey of U.S. adults shows that crypto ownership has declined from its peak in 2025 to 11% among investors and 9% overall.
The decline was sharpest among younger men aged 18-49, who now hold 24% of crypto assets, down from 33% a year ago. Upper-income investors also saw a significant drop, with ownership falling to 15%, compared to 19% in 2025.
Despite the decline, most investors view crypto as very risky, with 63% describing it that way and another 31% calling it somewhat risky. Even among current owners, nearly half (47%) believe crypto is a very risky investment.
The pullback follows a near-50% decline in Bitcoin's value after it reached $100,000 in 2025, and a reported $4 billion drop in USDT supply as investors exited the market.
