Crypto Prices Retreat as Fed Rate Decision Looms
The prices of top cryptocurrencies Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Ripple (XRP) have been declining due to market uncertainty. BTC traded around $73,000 on Wednesday after dropping 3.25% the previous day. ETH, which failed to close above key resistance, slipped below $2,300. XRP nears its EMA support zone following a correction of over 9% on Tuesday.
The decline in prices comes as market participants await the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision and forward guidance by Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh on Wednesday. This could shape the near-term outlook for these top three cryptocurrencies.
Bitcoin remains above key EMAs, with its price trading at $75,930 on Wednesday after correcting over 3% the previous day. Despite this pullback, BTC holds a constructive bullish bias as it remains comfortably above the 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day Exponential Moving Averages (EMAs). This stacked EMA configuration hints at an underlying uptrend despite recent momentum pullbacks.
Ethereum's momentum has cooled off, with ETH trading at $2,400 on Wednesday after dropping over 4% the previous day. It is holding above its key EMAs and retaining a broadly constructive bias despite recent consolidation.
