Crypto Regulation Bill Stalls in Senate, Shifts Focus to Trump Regulators
A bill aimed at regulating cryptocurrencies in the US has stalled in the Senate after failing to clear a procedural hurdle, leaving industry leaders to shift their attention to Trump administration regulators.
The Clarity Act, which had been championed by some GOP lawmakers and administration officials, was blocked by Democrats who expressed concerns over ethics language that could benefit President Trump's family businesses.
Faryar Shirzad, Coinbase's chief policy officer, acknowledged the setback on social platform X, saying 'The Senate has voted and we have a different type of clarity. It's time for agencies to step forward and for crypto voters to make their voice heard.'
