Crypto Terminals Reach $1B Volume Day Since January
Crypto trading terminals have seen their first billion-dollar day since January 2025, with $1.03 billion in volume on September 2. GMGN, a multi-chain terminal, took almost half of this total at $479.7 million. Its Solana volume was flat over the past 30 days.
Since the last billion-dollar day, the venue mix behind it has changed, with Robinhood Chain taking nearly all of GMGN's volume, 90.7% to be exact, totaling $445.5 million. Thirty days earlier, this chain carried only $18.2 million of GMGN's volume.
GMGN settled $3.02 billion over the past 30 days, a 21.5% increase from the previous 30-day window. The record day came from Robinhood Chain, which also saw its DEX volume hit a record $1.67 billion on September 1 and stand at $1.55 billion over the 24 hours to 20:24 UTC on Thursday.
The recovery extends past terminals, with volume across all decentralized exchanges reaching a 26% increase to $236.3 billion over 30 days against $187.6 billion in the prior window. August saw the strongest month since February at $233.5 billion, but this is still short of the October 2025 record of $588.3 billion.
The price rally accompanied the volume increase, with Bitcoin trading at $81,406, up 5.2% over 24 hours and 27.2% over 30 days. Ether was at $2,507.61, up 34.3% over 30 days, and Solana at $105.22, up 41.9%. Total crypto market capitalization stood at $2.75 trillion.
