Crypto Wallets Don't Delete Blockchain Addresses

Share

A cryptocurrency wallet is not like a bank account that can be closed. Even if you delete a wallet application or lose access to it, the blockchain address associated with it may still exist and receive cryptocurrency.

This means that sending crypto to an old wallet address can still result in successful transactions, even if nobody controls the private key anymore. The funds will remain at the destination address until someone with the necessary authorization moves them.

However, if you lose access to your recovery phrase or private key, it may be difficult or impossible to recover the cryptocurrency. It's essential to keep these secure and use reputable wallet software to avoid losing control of your assets.
