Curtis Calls for Investigation into Presidential Family Ties to Crypto
Republican Senator John Curtis has called for an investigation into the use of presidential family relationships for private financial gain, citing the involvement of US President Donald Trump's and former President Joe Biden's sons in the crypto industry.
Curtis, a Utah lawmaker, sent a letter to Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Chuck Grassley and ranking member Dick Durbin requesting an investigation into the use of presidential family relationships for private financial benefit or preferential treatment.
The senator specifically highlighted Donald Trump Jr.'s involvement in crypto ventures, including his promotion of family-backed cryptocurrency projects and advisory roles with prediction market platforms under the regulatory purview of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
Curtis also pointed to Hunter Biden's substantial business dealings with foreign entities and instances where he invoked or understood his relationship to the presidency to provide value.
