A Maryland cybersecurity consultant, Jonathan Spalletta, is on trial in New York for allegedly stealing nearly $55 million in hacked cryptocurrency. The hack occurred in 2021 when Uranium Finance was compromised, leading to its shutdown.
Spalletta has pleaded not guilty and faces a maximum of 20 years in prison if convicted of the most serious charge against him.
