Deutsche Bank has confirmed its entry into the crypto custody market, securing an institutional license under MiCA in October. The globally systemically important bank initially plans to support Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and USDC, with the aim of expanding into digital financial instruments in the future.

The move marks a significant breakthrough for traditional financial giants in the crypto space. Deutsche Bank's compliance process serves as an industry benchmark, demonstrating its long-term strategic intent in the digital asset infrastructure space.

Other German banks are also following suit, with Baden-Württemberg Bank partnering with Bitpanda to offer cryptocurrency custody services and DZ Bank obtaining authorization from Germany's regulator BaFin under MiCA. This marks another significant milestone in the compliance of traditional banking institutions in the crypto custody space.
