District's Agent-Based Launchpad Creates Self-Improving Project on Solana
Michael Ma, founder of District, has created an innovative launchpad for on-chain projects on Solana. Unlike traditional founders who often burn out or abandon their projects, District's agent-based system is designed to learn from failures and adapt to improve.
The agent was trained on data from hundreds of launches on District and given a treasury, wallet, and token to run by itself. Ma believes the average agent is better than 40-50% of crypto founders in running projects and expects this gap to close further.
Attention Mine, a gamified mining project live on Solana, was the first agent-conceived and agent-operated token. The agent chose this direction after scanning DeFiLlama revenue data and selecting high-revenue protocols with low traction.
The agent's education happens in public, and Ma shares its missteps openly. For example, it initially learned to reward users for not claiming their tokens, which made it deflationary. However, it took new data to show that unclaimed tokens still existed but were simply uncounted.
Attention Mine has generated roughly $500,000 in protocol revenue since launch and reached the top 20 protocols by revenue on Solana within its first week. The agent's actions are all on-chain, making its performance verifiable. Ma notes that agents have no incentive to round numbers up or shade the truth because they have no ego attached to the outcome.
