The DOGE-1 mission is set to launch soon, but the Dogecoin price has slid to near USD 0.08 due to broader crypto market weakness.

Launched from Kennedy Space Center in Florida on September 14, the DOGE-1 mission marked the first space mission funded entirely with Dogecoin.

The 40-kilogram satellite built by Geometric Energy Corporation will fly as a rideshare payload aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 and orbit the Moon, capturing lunar surface images and collecting sensor data. It will also display logos and digital art on a small onboard screen and beam those images back to Earth.

Dogecoin traded near USD 0.08 and fell about 7.4% over the week, with market capitalization near USD 12.5 billion. Over 24 hours, DOGE dropped 4.69% to USD 0.0784.
