Dogecoin's price has taken an unexpected turn despite reports of large holders buying over 545 million coins in just 24 hours.

The X account Investments CEO claims that these 'whales' made a significant purchase, but the market did not react as expected, with the price falling by 3.3% on October 3, 2026.

A look at the CoinGecko chart shows that Dogecoin's price touched its high of $0.09785, then fell sharply before recovering part of the loss.

The total value of this purchase is estimated to be around $50.6 million, based on the current market price of $0.0929 per coin.

The Dogecoin community and investors are left wondering why the price did not rise in response to this significant accumulation of coins by large holders.
