Dogecoin's Fresh Utility Narrative Still Faces Hurdles at $0.10
The latest development in Dogecoin's price movement is not tied to Elon Musk's tweets. Instead, it's the launch of DogeOS, a public testnet that allows developers to build applications on top of Dogecoin's blockchain. This testnet provides an EVM-compatible environment for trading, lending, stablecoins, games, and other apps, with DOGE used as transaction fees.
This gives Dogecoin a fresh utility narrative, but the price still has several major barriers to clear before reaching $0.16 by 2027. The first hurdle is reclaiming the psychological $0.10 level, which has repeatedly capped rallies in the past.
Recent trading activity saw DOGE reach as high as $0.098, but it slipped back down to $0.095. If $0.10 turns into support, the next targets move toward $0.11-$0.12, after which $0.16 would become a more credible year-end objective.
Large holders have provided one bullish signal by accumulating around 1.14 billion DOGE worth roughly $112 million over a recent four-day period. However, ETF demand is less convincing, as Bitwise plans to close its BWOW Dogecoin ETF on October 22, with trading ending on the 14th.
