DogeOS Brings DeFi Apps to Dogecoin With Public Testnet Launch
DogeOS has launched its public testnet to bring Ethereum-compatible smart contracts and decentralized finance applications to Dogecoin. This move allows DOGE holders more uses beyond payments and speculation.
The application layer went live on September 30, providing developers with an EVM-compatible environment where they can build and test applications using DOGE for transaction fees. The network supports trading, lending, stablecoins, prediction markets, games, and other consumer applications.
DogeOS was created by the team behind MyDoge and adds new apps to Dogecoin without changing its main blockchain. Developers familiar with Ethereum-compatible infrastructure can use similar tools to build applications on the testnet.
