DogeOS Testnet Launched, But Dogecoin Price Stuck Below $0.10
Dogecoin's price has remained stuck below $0.10 despite the introduction of DogeOS, a new testnet for developers to build applications around the meme-based cryptocurrency.
The testnet, which allows for payments, trading, lending, games, and other services, uses test DOGE for fees, but the currency has no market value and can be obtained through a faucet provided for developers.
The launch comes as DOGE trades near $0.095, up less than 1% at the time of this writing, but the price response has been muted, with the area between $0.092 and $0.093 being the nearest support level.
Developers are already working on various products, and the testnet is a separate application layer built around Dogecoin, not an upgrade to the main blockchain.
