Drift Victims Get Penny-on-the-Dollar Payout, Wait for Bigger Pot
The Drift token heist in April left nearly $295.4 million in verified losses for its victims.
Six months later, they can finally file a claim to get some of their money back, but it's not without caveats.
The recovery pool has started with only $3.11 million, which translates to roughly 1 cent on the dollar for every verified loss.
Tether has committed up to $127.5 million in USDT, and Velocity, Drift's rebuilt exchange, will funnel part of its daily revenue into the pool.
However, this is not a guarantee, as recovered assets from hackers linked to North Korea are still being pursued.
