ECB Seeks Participants for Digital Euro Testing

The European Central Bank (ECB) has announced its second round of innovation platform activities for digital euro testing. The ECB will partner with private companies to test new services and use cases for digital euro.

The selection process for participants began on September 28th, and the deadline is November 9th at 5 PM CEST (November 10th at 1 AM JST). The chosen participants will be announced on January 2027 on the ECB's website.

There are two working groups: 'Experimentation' and 'Exploration'. In 'Experimentation', participants will test digital euro in payment applications, while 'Exploration' will discuss AI payments and public services.
