ECB's Pontes Platform Goes Live with XRP Ledger Technology

The European Central Bank's (ECB) Pontes platform has gone live on September 21, marking one of four day-one DLT platforms to run on XRP Ledger technology.

According to ECB President Christine Lagarde, the launch follows the Eurogroup meeting. Pontes is a wholesale digital settlement bridge designed for settling tokenized assets in central-bank money.

The platform's deployment aims to facilitate efficient and secure transactions between financial institutions, leveraging the benefits of distributed ledger technology (DLT).
