Eliza Token Shut Down as Founder Ends Foundation Following Legal Settlement

Share

The Eliza token has been shut down by its founder, Shaw Walters, following a legal settlement that has led to the foundation's closure. The lawsuit, filed in April this year in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York, claimed false advertising, deceptive business practices, and other allegations against Walters and associated entities.

The settlement means that the remaining treasury funds will be distributed to token holders. However, development of ElizaOS, an AI agents platform built on a modular architecture, will continue despite the shutdown of the token.

In a public statement, Walters acknowledged the settlement and confirmed that there will be no future funding for the token price. He also stated that he does not own any tokens associated with Eliza and will not develop new cryptocurrencies linked to the project.
