ENA Unlock Discrepancy Causes Confusion Amid October 5th Release
A discrepancy in figures reported by data platforms regarding the expected unlocking of Ethereum's native token, ENA, has caused confusion among investors.
CoinMarketCap indicates that approximately 1.41 billion ENA may be unlocked, while DropsTab shows only 171.88 million ENA will be released.
The difference between the two platforms stems from a previously announced schedule change for Ethereum's investor tokens.
According to DropsTab data, 171.88 million ENA will be unlocked on October 5th, representing 1.15% of ENA's total supply of 15 billion.
However, on August 27, Ethereum changed the schedule for the remaining ENA tokens allocated to investors, which were originally planned to be released monthly until March 2028.
The project team has not disclosed the exact amount to be released in this transaction, leading to different calculation methods among platforms.
Calculating the 18-month period between October 2026 and March 2028, the accelerated investor allocation appears to be approximately 1.40 billion ENA.
When this is added to the planned October rollout of 93.75 million ENA for key contributors, the total amount that will become transferable on October 5th reaches approximately 1.5 billion ENA.
