Ethereum Edges Closer to Potential Golden Cross
Ethereum's (ETH) price is approaching a potential golden cross, a significant moving-average crossover that could strengthen its recovery structure. However, for this to happen, Ethereum must first break through resistance and confirm a clear breakout above $1,920-$1,950.
The 50-day moving average has turned upward and is now at about $1,824, while the 100-day moving average is still falling and close to $1,919. A golden cross would be produced by Ethereum if the 50-day average eventually crosses above the 100-day average.
Golden crosses are lagging indicators that validate an improvement in price performance rather than leading it. Therefore, for the crossover to occur, Ethereum must continue its recovery and break through resistance.
The downside risk is still relatively clear, with a significant support coming from the rising 50-day average at $1,824. Losing this level could result in exposure to the $1,750-$1,800 range and delay the crossover. Even if the golden cross materializes, Ethereum would still need to contend with its 200-day moving average at $2,132.
