Ethereum ETFs See $118 Million Outflow After Strong Week
Ethereum ETFs saw significant outflows over three consecutive days, totaling $118 million. This came after a strong week of inflows, where Ethereum funds brought in $690 million.
The selling trend began on September 29, when investors pulled back about $3 million. The following day, they withdrew $60 million, and on October 1, another $55 million left the funds.
Despite the outflows, Ethereum ETFs still hold around $17.7 billion in assets, which is roughly $4 billion more than the total amount of money investors have contributed since their launch.
The disparity between Ethereum and Bitcoin fund flows suggests that investors are moving money specifically out of Ethereum funds, rather than withdrawing from cryptocurrency funds overall.
Quarter-end selling may be a contributing factor to the outflows, as pension funds, advisors, and model portfolios rebalance their investments. However, the trend continued even after the quarter closed, with Ethereum funds experiencing net outflows of $101 million over the four-day period from September 28 to October 1.
