Ethereum ETFs Surpass Bitcoin Inflows, But Still Largely Lag Behind
Ethereum ETFs attracted more new money than Bitcoin ETFs in 2026, according to data from SoSoValue. The Ethereum funds received approximately $1.5 billion in inflows, surpassing the $985 million brought in by spot Bitcoin ETFs. However, this does not mean that Ethereum ETFs have surpassed Bitcoin's overall size, as they still lag behind significantly.
Bitcoin funds currently manage around $109 billion in total assets, while Ethereum funds hold approximately $18 billion. This disparity is largely due to the earlier launch of Bitcoin ETFs and their higher net inflows over the years.
The value of the crypto assets within these funds affects their total assets. Bitcoin funds have gained about $52 billion since inception, driven by appreciation in their underlying coins. In contrast, Ethereum funds show a smaller gain of roughly $4 billion.
Both Bitcoin and Ethereum funds have declined from their highs earlier in 2026, with Bitcoin fund assets peaking at $128 billion in mid-January and Ethereum funds reaching $21 billion on the same day.
