Ethereum Hits $2,000 as BMNR Defies Market Sell-Off
The cryptocurrency market held steady on Monday morning after Ethereum's price climbed back over $2,000. The broader stock market was in the red during pre-market trade as uncertainty in the Middle East weighed on equities.
However, Tom Lee-backed Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) defied the trend by rising 2% in pre-market trade. This outperformance came after Ethereum's price rose 2.2% in the last 24 hours, leading gains among top cryptocurrencies by market capitalization.
Bitmine is the largest corporate holder of Ethereum on its balance sheet, holding around 4.4 million ETH valued at $8.96 billion. The company usually announces its purchases over the past week later in the day.
