Ethereum Hits 7-Month High as Tom Lee Predicts S&P 500 Surge Above 8,000
Ethereum's price reached a seven-month high on Tuesday, closing above $2,750 for the first time since January 29. The current price is around $2,758, up over 1% in the past 24 hours.
According to Tom Lee, Chairman of Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR), the crypto rally in August helped set the stage for September's stock gains. He noted that crypto moves typically lead the S&P 500 by about a month.
Lee said oil prices and bond yields have eased, reducing market pressure, while bearish sentiment and oversold conditions could provide fuel for a sharp stock rally in September. He expects the S&P 500 to surge above 8,000 by the end of the month, citing investors' underexposure after recent de-risking.
