Ethereum Jumps 5.61% on SEC Tokenized-Stock Exemption, Targets $3,000

Ethereum's price surged on Friday, gaining 5.61% to reach $2,584.95, following the release of a tokenized-stock exemption by the SEC. This move allows regulated venues to trade tokenized versions of U.S.-listed stocks through permissioned automated market makers and liquidity pools.

The exemption is significant for Ethereum as it enables the network's on-chain infrastructure to be used for the world's largest asset class, with a bulk of tokenized real-world assets, stablecoin settlement, and decentralized liquidity already running on Ethereum and its layer-2 networks. The price rebound also repairs damage from a brutal week, where Ether fell hard after the Senate killed the CLARITY Act.

The move leaves a thin volume shelf between $2,500 and $2,580, created by the fast push through the U.S. open. If the rally stalls below $2,600, that shelf is where price will look for support, and the first real test comes over the weekend, when U.S. institutional flows go quiet and crypto trades on thinner liquidity.
